Is Your Workplace Culture Igniting On Fire Employees?
Find out with Eric Chester’s Workplace Culture Assessment
ABOUT THE ASSESSMENT
To accompany his new book, On Fire at Work: How Great Companies Ignite Passion in Their Workplace without Burning Them Out (Sound Wisdom, 2015), Eric created a workplace culture assessment that helps organizations determine how employees feel about their workplace. This 35-question, multiple-choice assessment should prove to be a very valuable tool for business owners and leaders, as it will help them see those areas where their culture is thriving, and those where they might need to make changes. This online assessment takes an average of 15 to 20 minutes for an employee to complete. It is completely anonymous, meaning that the participant can answer honestly without any fear of retribution. When the participant finishes, the surveys are submitted to us, and we compile all the data and send a report to you showing you exactly how your people rate your company across the 7 pillars of workplace culture:
- Compensation – money, perks, benefits, and work/life balance
- Alignment – meaningful work at a company with values that mirror their own
- Growth – opportunities to learn new skills and advance in their careers
- Atmosphere – a workplace that provides a safe, upbeat, enjoyable experience
- Acknowledgement – feeling appreciated, rewarded, and sometimes even celebrated
- Autonomy – encouragement to think and act independently and make decisions
- Communication – being informed about relevant company issues and knowing the company is actively listening to their ideas and wants honest feedback

ABOUT THE BOOK
Dozens of innovative ideas and strategies revealed from cultures doing more than ‘engaging’ employees; they inspire them to consistently deliver ‘on fire’ performance!
- Why does the CEO of QuikTrip want his employees to know his annual salary?
- Why does The Container Store pay its employees up to twice as much as other retailers pay?
- Why does Canada’s #1 airline hold over 200 employee celebrations each year?
- Why does the “Best Place to Work” in Minneapolis call each of its 500+ employees a co-President?
On Fire at Work proves that employee engagement isn’t the ultimate goal–it’s merely the starting point. Renowned leadership expert Eric Chester has gone straight to the source—top-tier leaders of the world’s best places to work (i.e., Marriott, Siemens Industrial, BB&T Bank, Wegmans, 7-Eleven, Canada’s WestJet, Ben & Jerry’s, and The Container Store, etc.) to uncover their best practice strategies for getting employees to work harder, perform better, and stay longer.
On Fire at Work is a practical field guide that any organization can implement to build more than an engaged workforce; but, rather, a workforce that’s on fire!
There is a war for talent taking place on a global scale, and the future belongs to forward-thinking organizations that are focused on creating and sustaining a dynamic and compelling workplace culture.
Since 1998, Eric Chester has been the leading voice in attracting, managing, motivating, and retaining the emerging workforce. As an in-the-trenches workplace researcher and thought-leader, Chester has now cracked the code on the tactics and strategies companies that are recognized as “best places to work” in their respective industries are using to win the talent wars.
On Fire at Work: How Great Companies Ignite Passion in Their People without Burning Them Out is Eric’s 4th leadership book. His previous release, Reviving Work Ethic – A Leader’s Guide to Ending Entitlement and Restoring Pride in the Workforce (2012) is the first business book on developing soft skills and core work ethic values since 1904. He is the Founder of The Center for Work Ethic Development and created a work ethic training curriculum that is being taught at hundreds of schools, colleges, workforce centers, and organizations all over the world.
